Alfonso the Brussels Griffon Puppy

Dogs and cats provide so much unconditional affection, humor, and peace of mind that I just don’t understand how anyone can live without them. I grew up with both cats and dogs (and turtles, snakes, iguanas, hamsters, chickens and fish). My wife and I currently have 7 cats, all adopted from Animal Haven Shelter. Currently owning a dog isn’t practical for us, so I relish the time I spend with other’s dogs.

A full-time freelance photographer in Manhattan since the 80’s, I learned the technical side of photography, especially lighting, working mainly for major corporations. Light is the photographer’s medium, and understanding it is one of the keys to consistent, high-quality photography.

Combining my love of pets with that of photography is my greatest creative inspiration. It’s what makes me want to get up in the morning and get to work.
