The 2012 Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade
Here’s a dog’s-eye view of a few of the costumed contestants and attendees at the 22nd annual Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade. The weather was perfect and there were many hundreds of costumed dogs and people. In fact the fenced-off dog-walk was so crowded that I stayed just outside and met plenty of patient animals and their proud parents.
Tompkins Square Dog run, located in the East Village, was the first of over 55 dog parks opened by the NYC Parks Dept. It operates on community donations. Visit FirstRunFriends.org for more information on Tompkins Square Park Dog Run, the Halloween Dog Parade, and more.
